Don't let the title of this book fool you, it's not just for beginners. A fairly unique book, written primarily for non-engineers in the financial industry.

Deutsche Bank's overview of the global oil & gas industry. Structured in three parts, this layperson's guide includes details on the workings of the oil & gas industry, key oil producing countries and a summary of the assets and portfolios of the leading European and US oil & gas companies.

Almost 500 pages, packed with information. Since it's written from a financial rather than engineering perspective, it provides a different slant than most texts about the oil & gas industry. Also a great reference about the history of each major oil producing country and each major oil company.
